SOAR Philanthropic Society is a youth led non profit organization, providing scholarships and educational resources to local high school students. Since 2012, SOAR has given out over $50,000 in scholarship funds. This year the organization will be giving out over $35,000 in scholarship funds to graduating students for the categories of academics, adversity, arts, entrepreneurship, health and mindfulness, leadership, law and social justice, sports, trades, and more. Each scholarship is $1,000. Students can apply at by May 31, 2019. Furthermore, SOAR is holding its annual leadership conference, SOAR Summit at the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University on June 15, 2019. Students will get the opportunity to listen to leading professionals from various industries. Students will also engage in numerous workshops and activities focused on community involvement, financial literacy, and leadership. Grade 12 students accepted into a technology-related program at a BC post-secondary institution this fall are invited to apply for a BC Tech Scholarship. Three scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded. Applications are being accepted until April 30, 2019

CMWAC Post Secondary Bursary Program

Please see the application below for a bursary for all Grade 12 students. There are two $1,000 bursaries available. All applicants are required to write an essay of 500-800 words on the following topics:
a) Is there a connection between Mental Health and Peer Pressure? Or;
b) What is Mental Health?

We are pleased to announce that the following Entrance Awards are available to students who are planning to attend BCIT commencing April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Please click here for more information.

  • BCIT President's Entrance Awards, available only to current High School students
    • BCIT President's Entrance Awards are available to students that have graduated from a B.C. Secondary School during the period September 2018 to June 2019. The selection of candidates is based on an evaluation of academic achievement, participation and contribution to school activities, leadership and citizenship as well as volunteer and/or community service. The BCIT President's Entrance Award can be applied to any full-time BCIT credential program.

      The deadline to apply for BCIT President's Entrance Awards is August 5.
  • BCIT Entrance Awards applications
    • BCIT Entrance Awards have two distinct deadlines that depend on when you begin your full-time studies at BCIT and the program you are registered in. The deadline for each BCIT Entrance Award is listed under each specific entrance award. 

      For awards with a singular August 5 deadline, applicants must commence their program between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

      For awards with two deadlines, the following applies: 
      • August 5, 2019 for programs starting between April and November 2019. 
      • January 6, 2020 for program starting between December 2019 to March 2020.



The Adoptive Families Association of BC Bursary Program offers two bursaries, designed to enhance educational outcomes for BC youth. The funds are intended to assist in supporting youth during their studies including but not limited to: costs of tuition, costs directly and indirectly related to post-secondary.
